Will restoring my Dell laptop to factory settings get rid of a key logger?
Anyone know? I only use 3 programs, so they will be easy to re install.
If I restore back to the factory settings (using my recovery disk), will it remove a virus or a key logger?

Short Answer: Yes.
Long Answer: It would, because it’s deleting all your files and restoring it back to its original condition. I’ve done this many times before for keyloggers, just make sure that you have an external hard drive or source that you can backup important information to.

Yes but that may be a little extreme. Before you do that go to cnet.com and download and run malwarebytes anti malware. This may get rid of it for you and save you having to reload all of your stuff again. I run a scan with it about once a week and it sometimes finds stuff that norton has let slip through. Tom B
